Gravity fights to hold us steady as the void between us grow, like a hydraulic in the river, my oxygen feels displaced. There’s no room for the energy building in my spirit, and as usual, I’m not quite sure if I’m perceiving or creating what I see.
A great force is pulling me towards a new home. A home long sought after, with a magnetism growing for nigh a decade. Forces from the east and west pull me into a resting place between them. With acceptance and excitement, I embrace their places in my journey. But it is not without fear. In a time when my heart should be clinging to those who support and nurture my spirit, my tendency towards Irish goodbyes and cutting ties grows stronger.
When we sleep at night, voices crawl into my mind and warn me that the end is near. The dream you created for us will begin to fade. Our dream was a palace: safe, warm, and filled with possibilities. Realities are more somber and less attractive to young renegades. But still, I embrace our journey. You drove me to act, to create, and to grow. Long ago the lesson was learned of what happened when you hold something so precious too close.
